Millions have lost their homes and run the risk of being infected by deadly water-borne diseases such as cholera. The government's slow response has been criminally inadequate whereas the magnitude of the devastation was made worse by its failure to make any flood management plans. Zardari's treachery has been the hallmark of the corruption that characterizes the rulers of the Ummah. It is time we call to and work for a leadership who follows in the footsteps of the Khulafaa' who feared Allah (swt) and then the accountability towards the people. The floods in Pakistan began in late July this year after record heavy monsoon rains caused rivers and lakes to burst out of their banks, and dams to be overwhelmed by the sheer weight of water, sending great flash floods which swept away houses, bridges, roads and electrical power lines. Baluchistan, Southern Punjab, Peshawar and Swat are all included among the worst hit areas. Close to 2,000 people have been killed so far and millions were rendered homeless. Estimates from rescue-service officials suggest the death-toll may increase as the threat of water-borne diseases and infections such as cholera are very high. According to a recent estimate of the United Nations, the number of people suffering as a result of these massive floods in Pakistan exceeds 20 million, which is more than the combined total of the 2004 Indian Ocean tsunami, the 2005 Kashmir earthquake and the 2010 Haiti earthquake. The extensive damage to infrastructure and crops has also resulted in a major setback to the struggling Pakistani economy. Where are the Rulers? While the Muslims in Pakistan are facing this horrific situation, how has the government reacted? As the flooding began, President Zardari continued with his plans to visit France and Britain to meet President Sarkozy and Prime Minister Cameron. Furthermore, it was reported that Zardari stayed at the Royal Suites in London which costs 10,000 British pounds per night – the equivalent of which could feed 10,000 people in Pakistan. Prime Minister Gilani received strong criticism after staging a visit to a fake flood relief camp with paid actors playing the part of flood victims. Local politicians of the ruling party were absent from the affected areas causing anger among the survivors. Furthermore, in Sindh, ministers of the ruling party were accused of using their influence to direct flood waters off their lands towards densely populated areas. There has been very little assistance by the military since the majority of the army has been sent to fight America's war in the tribal areas which has cost billions of dollars. Due to the rulers in Pakistan parceling out its sovereignty to America the Shahbaz airbase in Jacobabad (where 500,000-700,000 people have been displaced due to the floods) cannot be used for relief efforts as it is being used by the U.S. for drone attacks in the tribal regions. The lack of response and the blatant mismanagement of the crisis by the government is a replay of a similar situation in the past. On November 12th, 1970, a devastating tropical cyclone struck East Pakistan (now Bangladesh) and West Bengal in India in which 500,000 people died. The Pakistani government was severely criticized for its handling of the relief operations following the storm, both by local political leaders in East Pakistan and in the international media. What makes the floods of this year more devastating is not only the government's weak response (if any) towards helping the survivors; it is also criminal neglect that after more than 60 years, no ruling party has yet instituted flood management plans. The unusually heavy rains during the monsoon season provided ample warnings that flooding may occur. Yet local authorities did nothing to provide advance warnings to give residents enough time to evacuate. Speaking about the floods in Pakistan, the director for the Centre for Research on Epidemiology of Disasters said, "The numbers of people killed are very high for a natural event [like a flood], which is among the easier disasters to predict and plan for…Poor communities in Vietnam, Bangladesh, and even Mozambique have put together simple radio-based early warning systems, which help people to be evacuated in time." Furthermore, the flooding could have been entirely averted – as admitted by Gilani himself – had the proposed Kalabagh Dam been built in 2005. However, the project was cancelled in 2008 by the now ruling PPP party. Any government that was sincerely concerned about its people would have established counter-measures such as ditches and drainage systems to funnel the excess water away from the inhabited areas. The disregard of safety by the government is not restricted to the region of Pakistan. Rather, it is a common trait among all the agent rulers that have been forced upon the Ummah. It is natural disasters, such as the floods in Pakistan that expose more of the true nature of the Muslim rulers. In November of last year we saw in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia, how a flood caused the death of 500 Muslims. At first the government tried to downplay the number of casualties by claiming that "only" 100 people had died. However, when the figures became impossible to hide, Prince Khalid al-Faisal, the governor of the Meccan region (which includes Jeddah) blamed the deaths on arbitrarily built neighborhoods and not on the fact that the Muslims living in Jeddah do not have an adequate sewage system to deal with the potential flooding. In 1999 we also witnessed the Izmit earthquake in Turkey with a magnitude of 7.6 in which 40,000-45,000 people died and 600,000 were left homeless. There was widespread anger among the Muslims living in Turkey as the government did not enforce basic building standards in an area that was prone to earthquakes. Treacherous Rulers By examining the actions of these Muslim rulers it is clear that these rulers are the oppressors, described in the hadith of RasulAllah (saw): "... then there will be oppressive kingship for as long as Allah wills…" [Ahmad] Allah (swt) has warned us of the heavy price of not ruling by the Quran and Sunnah: "And whoever did not rule by what Allah revealed, those are the disbelievers." [TMQ 5:44] "...oppressors." [TMQ 5:45] "... transgressors." [TMQ 5:47] Furthermore, RasulAllah (saw) says about the ruler who betrays the people whom he is supposed to manage: "Every traitor will have a flag on the Day of Judgement to identify him according to the amount of his treachery; there is no traitor of greater treachery than the leader of the people" [Bukhari & Muslim] To Change the Rulers, we need to Change the System These Muslim rulers who are put in place by the colonial western powers, mainly the U.S. and Britain, operate in a manner so that this great Ummah of Muhammad (saw) remains under the tyranny and injustice of the western-imported man-made system. This is why a simple change in leadership has never done anything to improve the affairs of the Ummah. If anything, it has made the situation worse as we have observed in Pakistan. The root of the problem does not lie solely with the corrupt rulers but in the system which they are adhering to – the western-imported man-made system. This system, which the rulers implement, is designed only to care for the ruling elite and its entourage. Throughout the world, a select elite hoards the world's important resources, depriving billions of people of their basic needs, leaving them to hunger, thirst and homelessness. In the Muslim lands the system might be disguised with selective rules in order to appear Islamic. But when these few rules are stripped away there is no question that the systems implemented are far from what RasulAllah (saw) implemented and the Khulafaa' (Caliphs) upheld. Khilafah: A Model of Disaster Management When we examine the system which the Prophet (saw) had brought to mankind, we will see that it does not resemble what is currently being implemented in the Muslim lands. During the Khilafah of Umar ibn Al-Khatab (ra), Madinah had suffered a famine. Abu Ubaydah ibn al-Jarrah (ra), his Wali (governor) in Syria, said that he would send a train of camels so long that, "... one end will be here at Syria and the other will be at Madinah." Moreover, Abu Ubaidah (ra) later paid a personal visit to Madinah and acted as an officer of a disaster management division, which was headed personally by Umar (ra). Tens of thousands of people from desert towns had already gathered in Madinah and once an adequate supply of ration reached Madinah, Umar (ra) dispatched his men to the routes of Iraq, Palestine and Syria to take the supply caravans to the desert settlements deeper into Arabia, which by the permission of Allah (swt) saved hundreds of thousands from starvation. For the internally displaced people, Umar (ra) hosted a dinner every night in Madinah. If all this could be achieved by Islamic ruling in an age of camels and messengers on horses, what could be achieved by the Khilafah in today's time? Even during the period of decline, the Khilafah remained a shining example and a guiding light for all of mankind. In 1845, the onset of the Great Irish famine resulted in over a million deaths. Khalifah Abdul-Majid declared his intention to send 10,000 pounds sterling to the Irish farmers but Queen Victoria requested that the Khalifah send only 1,000 pounds sterling, because she had sent only 2,000 pounds sterling herself. Sultan Abdul-Majid sent the 1,000 sterling but also secretly sent 3 ships full of food. The English courts tried to block the ships, but the food arrived in Drogheda harbor and was left there by the Uthmani sailors. To bring this into today's terms the 10,000 pounds dedicated to the Irish from the Sultan would be worth approximately $1,683,280 US Dollars. By the same standard, the Queen had only given the equivalent of 336,656 US Dollars! Reflecting on those who Died Many of us may know, or be related to, someone who was personally afflicted by the floods in Pakistan. While it is a tragic time for the grieving families, we should also remember that a believer is never at loss, regardless of the tremendous trials that befall him/her. RasulAllah (saw) said: "… the one who died due to the stomach is a shaheed and the drowned person is a shaheed." [Muslim] We ask Allah (swt) to raise the ranks of those who have suffered and for them to be in a more comfortable place. Just as Allah (swt) is testing our brothers and sisters in Pakistan with hardship, He is testing us with our response. In this time of need and immediate crisis, we should help where we can and give sadaqa to those in Pakistan whom we know personally (i.e. friends and relatives), especially in this blessed month of Ramadhan. These floods or any other natural disaster that befalls the Muslim Ummah exposes the current despotic rulers. They should be a reminder for us that the work to resume the Islamic way of life, by re-establishing the Khilafah Rashidah in the Muslim lands, needs to be undertaken with urgency so that we may seek the pleasure of Allah (swt). May Allah (swt) grant us victory in dunya and akhirah. "And soon will the unjust know what change in circumstance their affairs will take." எமது முதல் தொடரில் "ஜே" தொடர்பான எழுத்து மாராட்டங்கள், பெயர்களை தங்கள் விருப்பம் போல் மாற்றுவது தொடர்பான செய்திகள்வெளீயிடப்பட்டிருந்தன,                                                                                                                                     அதன் அடுத்த தொடரை இங்கு வாசிக்கலாம்.                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                     

                                                   இயேசு அந்நாளில் எழுப்பப்படும் போது இவ்வுலகில் அவரின் பெயரைக்கொண்டு தங்களது காரியங்களைச் செய்தவர்களைப்பார்த்து அவர் கூறுவார், என்னை விட்டு அகன்று போங்கள், என்னை விட்டு ஒதுங்கிக்கொள்ளுங்கள்....

இந்த நடத்தையை, காட்சியை பைபிள் படம்பிடித்துக் காட்டுகின்றது

                                                                                "இறுதி நாளன்று பலர் என்னிடம் "நீரேஎங்கள் கர்த்தர், உம்மைப் போற்றினோம். அசுத்த ஆவிகளை உம் பெயரால்விரட்டினோம், அற்புதங்கள் பல செய்தோம் என்று கூறுவார்கள். அவர்களிடம் நான்'என்னை விட்டு விலகுங்கள். தவறு செய்தவர்கள் நீங்கள். உங்களை எனக்குத்தெரியாது' என்று வெளிப்படையாகவே சொல்வேன்.      (மத்தேயு 7 : 22-23)

இந்த வார்த்தைகள் எந்த ஒரு முஸ்லிமுக்குக்கோ, இந்துவுக்கோ அல்லது ஏனைய மதத்தவர்களுக்கு பொருந்தாது, ஆனால் கிறிஸ்தவர்களை மட்டுமே குறித்துச் சொல்லுவதாக அமையும்,

இன்று பகிரங்க மேடைகள் போட்டு, இயேசு கிறிஸ்துவின் நாமத்தால் என்று அவரது பெயரைக்கொண்டு அற்புதங்களை நிகழ்த்துவர்களை, மக்களை அதிகமாக,  ஏமாற்றுபவர்களை பரவலாக காணமுடிகிறது.

இப்படிப்பட்டவர்களுக்குத் தான் இந்த இயேசு கிறிஸ்துவின் முன்னெச்சரிக்கைகளாகும் என்பதை கிறிஸ்தவ நண்பர்கள் கவனத்தில் கொள்ள வேண்டும்.

அந்த நாளில் ஈஸா (அலை) அவர்களைப் பார்த்ததும் ஜீசஸ், ஜீசஸ் என்று கிறிஸ்தவர்களெல்லாம் கூடி அழைத்தால் அவர் யார் ஜீஸ்ஸ் என்று திரும்பிப் பார்க்கும் நிலை வரும்.

அந்தளவுக்கு பெயர் மாற்றம் செய்யப்பட்டிருக்கிறது.

அதுபோல் தான் பீட்டர் என்பதும், அவரது வாழ்க்கையில் ஒருநாளும் அவரை அல்லது அவராகவே தன்னை பீட்டர் என்று அறிமுகப்படுத்தியிருக்கமாட்டார். அவரது உண்மையான பெயர் 'சைமன் கீபஸ்'

இவ்வாறு பெயர்களை மாற்றியதனால் உண்மையான பெயர்கள் இல்லாது போய்விட்டன.

மசாயா ஜீசஸாக மாறிவிட்ட்து, அந்த பெயரை அல்குர் ஆன் ஈஸா அலை என்றே அறிமுகப்படுத்துகின்றது.

முஹம்மத் (ஸல்) அவர்களின் வருகையை முன்னைய வேதங்களில் முன்னறிவிப்பு செய்த்தாக அல்லாஹ் அல் குர்ஆனில் எமக்கு ஞாபகமூட்டுகின்றான்.

وَإِذْ قَالَ عِيسَى ابْنُ مَرْيَمَ يَا بَنِي إِسْرَائِيلَ إِنِّي رَسُولُ اللَّهِ إِلَيْكُم مُّصَدِّقاً لِّمَا بَيْنَ يَدَيَّ مِنَ التَّوْرَاةِ وَمُبَشِّراً بِرَسُولٍ يَأْتِي مِن بَعْدِي اسْمُهُ أَحْمَدُ فَلَمَّا جَاءهُم بِالْبَيِّنَاتِ قَالُوا هَذَا سِحْرٌ مُّبِينٌ [الصف : 6

"இஸ்ராயீலின் மக்களே! நான் உங்களுக்கு (அனுப்பப்பட்ட) அல்லாஹ்வின் தூதர். எனக்கு முன்சென்ற தவ்ராத்தை உண்மைப்படுத்துபவன். எனக்குப் பின்னர் வரவுள்ள அஹ்மத் என்ற பெயருடைய தூதரைப் பற்றி நற்செய்தி கூறுபவன்"என்று மர்யமின் மகன் ஈஸா கூறியதை நினைவூட்டுவீராக! அவர்களிடம் தெளிவான சான்றுகளைக் கொண்டு வந்த போது "இது தெளிவான சூனியம்" எனக் கூறினர்"                                               (அல்குர் ஆன் 61 – 6)

முஹம்மத்  மற்றும் அஹமத் ஆகிய இரண்டும் ஒரே பெயர்கலாகும்.

ஆனால் இன்றைய கிறிஸ்துவ பைபிள் மொழிபெயர்ப்புக்களில் 'முஹம்மதோ அஹம்மதோ'காணக்கிடைப்பதில்லை.

ஆனால் அதனை பைபிள் வேரு ஒரு இடத்தில் உறுதிப்படுத்துகின்றது:

                                                                                                                 "நான் உண்மையைச் சொல்லிக்கொண்டிருகிறேன். நான் போவது உங்களுக்கு நன்மையைத் தரும். ஏனென்றால் நான் போனால், உதவியாளரை அனுப்புவேன். நான் போகாவிட்டால் அந்த உதவியாளர் வரமாட்டார். அவர் வரும்போது இவற்றைப்பற்றி உண்மைகளையெல்லாம் உலகிலுள்ள மக்களுக்கு நிரூபிப்பார். அதோடு பாவத்தின் குற்றம் பற்றியும், நியாயத்தீர்ப்பு பற்றியும் விலக்குவார்."   (யோவான் 16 : 7 - 8)

 இயேசு கிறிஸ்து என்கின்ற ஈசா (அலை) அவர்கள் இங்கு சொல்லுகிற அந்த தீர்க்கதரசி, அல்லது தேற்றரவாளன் முஹம்மது (ஸல்) அவர்கள் மாத்திரமே.

ஆனால் அந்த தீர்க்கதரசி பரிசுத்த ஆவி தான் என்று கிறிஸ்துவ அறிஞர்கள் சொல்லுகிறரகள், ஆனால் பைபிளின் மூலப் பிரதியைப் பார்த்தால்  பரிசுத்த ஆவி என்பதற்கு இந்த சொல் பாவிக்கப்படுவதாக எங்கும் காணக்கிடைப்பதில்லை.

ஆனால் கிறிஸ்தவர்களின் வாதப்படி அது பரிசுத்த ஆவிதான் என்றால், இங்கு பாருங்கள்; மேலே சொன்ன வசனத்தின் படி: "ஏனென்றால் நான் போனால், உதவியாளரை அனுப்புவேன். நான் போகாவிட்டால் அந்த உதவியாளர் வரமாட்டார்."  நான் போனால்தான் அவர் வருவார், நான் போகாவிட்டால் அவர் வர மாட்டார். என்று சொல்லும் போது எப்படி பரிசுத்த ஆவி அந்த வாக்குக்கு சம்பந்தப்படுத்த முடியும்? பைபிளில் இடம்பெருகின்ற பரிசுத்த ஆவியுடைய வரலாற்றை ஆராய்கின்ற போது பரிசுத்த ஆவி இயேசுவுடைய பிறப்புக்கு  முன்னர் இருந்திருக்கிறது. இயேசுவுடனும் இருந்திருக்கிறது, அப்படி இருக்கும் போது எப்படி இந்த வசனத்திற்கு பரிசுத்த ஆவிதான் வரப்போதும் தேற்றரவாளன் என்று சொல்ல முடியும்?

Sangh Parivar's Terror Plot Exposed By Mustafa Khan 16 July, 2010 Countercurrents.org With all the startling revelations coming out as a cascade, it will be strange if for the larger interest of the security of India Indresh Kumar and other high ranking RSS chiefs are not put behind prison bars for the sole reason that RSS never stops its execution of its closely guarded plans which can potentially change Indian polity. Such is its cultural nationalism nurtured over the years that it does not want the Muslim minority, perhaps also other minorities, to exist in the country. Indresh Kumar is a member of the central committee of the RSS in charge of the Muslim minority affairs. The RSS cannot allow Muslim to exist as they want, equal to their fellow compatriots. Make no bones about it with the RSS because they are so cussed that they would continue their sophistry believing that you can fool all the people all the time, at least in India. Serving Lt Col Prasad Shrikant Purohit wanted to kill Indresh Kumar and according to his Abhinav Bharat constitution decimate Muslims because they would not be eligible for the Hindu Rashtra he had visualized. Purohit and Indresh Kumar have the same goal. Telling more than this according to the formula of truth of Albert Camus is a lie. To be precise, intended killing of Indresh Kumar is a lie, a white lie, planted to mislead. For, their aim is not mutual destruction. Both have the Hindu Rashtra in their hearts. Even if it is believed for an argument that Purohit and Shyam Apte of Pune had given a gun to one Alok and the Kolkata Hindutva activist Tapan Ghosh on April 11 or 12, 2008, to kill Indresh Kumar; their desire to purge India of Muslims and other minorities does not change. Nor does their capability to wreck havoc in altering the political map of the subcontinent, change. Truth also is the revelation that the medical doctor did want to kill the vice president Hamid Ansari at Jamia Millia in 2007. Creating anarchy is the hidden agenda of the RSS because it is the most secretive and hence most dangerous organization existing in India. Anarchy would lead to the kind of Hindu Rashtra Purohit and RSS envisage. What is the proof that they submit themselves to the Constitution of the Republic of India? When Allan Octavius Hume founded the Indian National Congress in 1885, the viceroy Lord Duffin called it seditious. Indresh Kumar's secret meeting and conversation with all those involved in Malegaon, Ajmer, Mecca masjid and Samjhauta express blasts constitutes just that. It is matched by Purohit's parleying with the Israeli officers seeking recognition and help and diplomatic immunity once the Hindu Rashtra comes into existence. Purohit was busy in recruiting youths into his organization Abhinav Bharat when he was posted at Deolali camp of Nasik, February to September 2005. Does this not constitute sedition, he a serving officer of the Indian army with a hidden Constitution to replace the Constitution of the Republic of India!! Abhinav Bharat had 5000 members across the country then. What has the military thought of the 5000 that the lieutenant colonel had taught and trained? What has the Maharashtra government done about KP Raghuvanshi inviting Purohit to teach and train the Anti Terrorism Squad officers? What has the government of India thought of Praveen Togadia who according to Purhot was actively engaged in the founding and financing of Abhinav Bharat? Why did Togadia want to know from Purohit as to who was investigating the Nanded blast of 2006? What have the investigating agencies done to know why the VHP chief of Maharashtra, one Prashant Hartalkar, was prying into this matter and under whose instruction? Does the Constitution of India allow all such anti-constitutional goings on? The government of India has shown no interest in the only Hindu majority country in the world after India, Nepal. Is this also pseudo secularism for it has not shown any awareness let alone publishing any white paper on the matter recorded by Sudhakar Pandey regarding how Pandey also instructed Purohit to contact Dr R P Singh over the telephone in August 2007. Dr Singh had told "Purohit that Indresh had "sold off Hindus in Nepal". This had fetched Indresh Kumar Rs 3 crore rupees. The money was floated by the ISI. When Purohit conveyed this to Togadia that doughty heart specialist from Gujarat acknowledged that he already knew about it. So the question, whether the government of India knew it? The most wonderful thing for the government of India to know is: how come the RSS and Abhinav Bharat slept over the fact that Malegaon was a rich mine for communal violence till SIMI and the Muslims blew themselves up on September 8, 2006 and only then Abhinav Bharat followed suit on September 29, 2008. (But the itinerary of Togadia shows another direction. He met Purohit in the house of a Nasik VHP leader Vinayak in February 2006, just months before first terrorist attacks in Malegaon. In December 2006 Purohit called upon Togadia in a Mumbai hotel and told him about the details of Abhinav Bharat. Togadia had informed Purohit in March April 2007 of the people who had given funds for Abhinav Bharat. In August-September 2007 Togadia gave Purohit 2 lakh rupees donation for Abhinav Bharat. Then on August 2, 2008 again shortly before the second terrorist attack in Malegaon Togadia and Purhit met. This time Togadia was not happy with Purohit for breaking up the Madhya Pradesh unit of VHP. Thus Togadia and Purohit acted in tandem around the time of both the bomb attacks in Malegaon.)

Ayodhya: Abode Of Ram Or Allah By Ram Puniyani 21 July, 2010 Countercurrents.org On the tragic day of 6th December 1992 the Babri Mosque, a 450 years old archeological structure was demolished by the RSS combine, (RSS, BJP, VHP, Bajrang dal and other progeny of RSS). A make shift temple was hurriedly constructed at the site. The RSS combine has been pressing since then for the resumption of its efforts to build a Ram temple at the site since they claim that Babri mosque was built by demolishing Ram Temple. This claim is not backed up by Historical and archeological data. The argument put forward was that 'Faith' will decide the birth place of Lord Ram and Sangh Parivar will be guided by the mahants and sadhus about the future course of action. Meanwhile four court cases have been going on in the Allahabad High Court Lucknow bench, about the issue of title of the land, where Masjid was located. Of these four the arguments in three of the four Ayodhya title suit cases have been completed. The arguments for fourth case will be over by the month end (July 2010). While one is waiting the result of these court cases, RSS combine has already planned to build pressure for constructing Ram Temple, irrespective of the outcome of the court cases. The cases pertain to ownership of the land where the mosque was located. VHP etc. are asserting that no mosque will be permitted in Ayodhya. As per VHP, mosque has to be outside the 'Shastriya Seema' (Boundary) as given in the Ramcharita manas (The Ram Legend, by Tulsidas) of Ayodhay. Meaning there by that Ayodhya is a holy place of Hindus only. Meanwhile, BJP and other associates have been instructed to step up the demand for building Ram temple at the precise spot where they had demolished the mosque on 6th December 1992. It must be made clear that Ayodhya means (A+Yudhya: A no war zone). It is not only holy for Hindus. Ayodhya has been a focal point of many religions, Buddhism, Jainism and Hinduism. From about fifth century BC fairly large Buddhist community was living in Ayodhya. Though this religion suffered a setback during first millennium AD, several remnants of its existence did survive. According to Jain tradition Ayodhya was the birthplace of the first and fourth Tirthankara. The early places of Hindu worship of Ayodhya were of Shaiva or Vishnu provenance. The specific worship of Rama even as an avatar of Vishnu is a much later development. References to the image of Rama appear only in sixth Century. Nawab of Awadh region, where Ayodhya is located had given land for the biggest temple in the area, Hanuman gadhi. One of the arguments being put forward is that state should take up the building of the Ram Temple at Ayodhya the way Somnath temple was built by the state. Advani and many others have been claiming that the Somnath reconstruction was done as per the decision of the Nehru cabinet. This is a total lie. Since the public memory is too short anything propagated repeatedly starts sounding like being true, the way Hitler's propaganda minister Goebbels used to do. Contrary to this a little peep into the recent history will show us that Indian Government had nothing to do with the reconstruction of Somnath temple. The lie that Nehru Government had reconstructed or supported Somnath reconstruction is a distortion of the fact that two ministers of Nehru cabinet were involved in the reconstruction in their personal capacity. As such when the idea of reconstructing temple at Somnath was mooted by Sardar Patel, Gandhi who was alive at that time opined that Hindus are themselves capable to build the temple and they don't need Government money or assistance for reconstruction neither should Government give money for such a construction. With the death of Sardar Patel, K.M.Munshi and N.V. Gadgil, who were ministers in Nehru's Cabinet, took up reconstruction work at personal level. There was no question of reconstruction proposal being passed by the Cabinet as falsely being claimed by communal forces. After the completion of the temple for its inauguration, the then President of India Dr. Rajedra Prasad was invited. He accepted the invitation against the wishes of Pundit Jawaharlal Nehru. Nehru opined that public officials should never publicly associate with faiths and shrines. This falsehood is being deliberately put forward to pressurize for temple construction, irrespective of the court ruling. Today nearly two decades after the demolition of the Babri Mosque, we have seen as to how much damage this Ram temple campaign has done to the political scene in the country. One also recalls that immediately after the Babri demolition, the then Prime minister Narsimha Rao had proclaimed that the Mosque will be rebuilt at the same spot. Accepting the outcome of demolition will be giving legitimacy to the criminal act perpetrated by RSS combine. At the moment there are diverse opinions about what should be done at the site. Most of the Muslim groups have committed to respect the court verdict. The VHP etc. on the contrary are campaigning for temple irrespective of the outcome of court cases. Even before the demolition they had asserted that it is the 'faith' and not the law of the land which will guide their actions. In a democracy, it is the law of the land which should dictate the policies of the state and the actions of political groups. At this crucial juncture, what is needed is the utmost respect for law and promotion of communal amity and national integration. Since the demolition of the masjid the communal amity has been badly mauled. The suspicion about each other, the communal divides have widened and there is a set back to the concept of the rights of weaker sections of society and minorities. The spreading of lies and emotive campaigns by political parties are not in accordance with the values of Indian Constitution. The elected representatives of people are duty bound to follow the Indian Constitution, so there is a need to appeal to all concerned to come to this basic understanding to uphold the values of freedom movement as enshrined in the Indian Constitution and let the court judgment be the decisive factor of future course of action.
